Poda Podi- Review : Worth watching?

Poda Podi   - Review : Worth watching?

IMDB Rating: TBD

Poda Podi- "a fell good movie for youth, if and only if, you are watching without any expectation"

(or)

Poda Podi - " if you want to go to London without flight ticket, then grab a ticket of this movie"

Genre: Drama, Romantic Comedy

Can we watch it?

First and foremost let me share my experience with how I went to this movie.

Nov 13, 2012 -> Was fighting hard for getting tickets for Thupakki... but oops didn't get

Nov 14, 2012 -> Went to a Multiplex and I thought I almost got the ticket, but again disappointment. So some how decided to watch any movie on that day to compensate Thupakki. So left Multiplex and decided to go for Poda Podi which was running near my home (Single theater, not a multiplex). I went with negative idea in the mind, with friends already saying this is a bad movie and with zero expectations. But on the contrary, let me be frank, this isn't a bad or worst movie. This is some where between OK and GOOD., if you go with no expectations.

This movie is about how a man ( who believes in Indian culture) and his wife( Indian origin, in London) live their life, with both of their ideas are contrasting.

Good and Bad about the movie: - Satisfaction index for Ticket money spent ( Rs 100 - as it isn't a multiple theater)

......- ves........

(1) The director took the entire movie in London and showcased that Simbu is a wealthy person. But if you see, he will be in love and later get married and still we don't know what job he is doing and how he is managing to run the family. Though he  says he is in Animation Industry, it wasn't justified in most of the places ( - 10)

(2) This isn't a film with songs in it, but on the contrary, this is a "Song Album" with few conversation in between. Songs.. Songs.. dialogues.. songs.. dialogues : is the theme of Poda Podi ( - 20)

(3) If you clearly see the way Varlakshmi speaks Tamil in this movie, you will never feel like she was settled a London girl of Indian origin. You could feel the local Tamil accent in most of places( - 10)

......+ ves........

(1) Music is good, especially the BGM, where Simbhu and Varalakshmi perform Salsa Dance in the competition. That particular theme music scores really good and brings international standards. (+ 10)

(2) Varalakshmi Sarathkumar's acting is good than expected. Though she doesn't looks like a Salsa dancer, but she did a commendable job in dance. Good that Tamil heroins doing dubbing for the own voice in the film (+ 40)

(3) VTV Ganesh comedy - this is a biggest compensation for the film. Timing comedy done by him has really worked out well, and his combination with Simbu has worked out yet another time (+ 30)

(4) Simbu - Simbu did a really good job in few scenes, like fighting with Mojjo, angry conversation, Mind voices in most of the place with timing comedy was good to watch(+30)

Worth?? -> 110 - 40 = 60

Ticket Cost - 100

So its a just "OK" to "GOOD" kind of movie. Not many will like it.

Rating: 6/10 .
