Neerparavai - Review : Worth watching?

Neerparavai  - Review : Worth watching?

IMDB Rating: TBD

Neerparavai -"it can be claimed as a beautiful Tamil movie, which portrays the real problems faced by Indian Fishermen of TN"

Genre: Drama

Can we watch it?

Even though the length of the movie is not too big, at the end of the day, you might feel it as a lengthy movie. This slow pace dramatic film, issues a very very strong message about the problems faced by the Tamil fishermen. sorry, Indian fishermen in Tamil Nadu, by its neighboring countries. But since it lacks commercial and entertaining elements, there is a big doubt whether it will be liked by all sort of audiences.

The movie clearly merges the two message in a beautiful way, i.e problems of drinking and problems faced by Indian fishermen by the shootout of neighboring countries. But the problem many might feel is that it is not as engaging, entertaining and griping as Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom, which was also released on the same day.

Here is the Satisfaction Index vs Ticket cost (Rs.100) [as I didn't watch this in multiplex] spent, from my experience

Ticket Cost = 100

Worthy for Ticket amount spend
Stuff
+ 20
Strong Message + Brave attempt.
+ 30
Saranya Ponvannan's acting. She is an expert in taking the role of mother and has justified once again, why she is a National award Winner
+ 20
Black Pandy + Thambi Ramaiyah + Police Constable combo: This is the only element of comedy in the movie and it makes us laugh to some extent
-50
I felt like movie is slow and not entertaining for all. May be this might be because of watching Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom first. On the whole I felt like this might not fall for Entertainment movie lovers as it is a serious movie.
-10
Except Para Para, I felt other songs are not that much catchy
+ 20
Cinemtogrphy holds very well to accompany the story of a fisherman. The long shot over sea, with the shore as background was really a pleasure to watch.
+30
Vishnu did a great job as a drunken man and it looked too real. At some point of time we also will be getting irritated of his drinking nature, and this is a victory for the character
             + 10
Casting was too good. Initially we will feel like laughing when we come to know that Nandita Das is older Sunaina, but it looked apt. Even the other casting like Church Father( Azhgam Perumal), Arrack seller ( Vadivukarasi), Black Pandy, Thami Ramiyah etch have done a neat job

Worth???

130 - 60 = 70

Ticket Cost = 100

Rating: 6/10 .
