This is a movie about a movie making in Africa. Clint Eastwood plays the character of the director of the movie, who leaves for Africa to shoot his movie, with a young Script writer. This is based on a novel, written by Peter Viertel , who actually worked in scripting The African Queen, and this is more or less his own experience with the director
John Huston, while shooting the African Queen.
In simple. BHWH is about a person's self interest (selfish) rather than finishing the movie for his producer.
